Course Objectives

  • Explore existing strategies within their organisations to ensure alignment for success within the dynamic business environment.
  • Explore strategic thinking and its associated benefits to assist them in contributing to the growth and expansion of the organisation.

  2. What is the strategic direction of the organisation
  3. Articulate the Vision, Mission and Purpose of the Organization
  4. Examine the external environment which impacts the business (competition, government laws, central bank, foreign exchange, price of oil etc)
  5. Examine internal resources and environment within the organization (plant, labour, expertise, cashflow, innovation etc). (7 S Matrix, Resource Analysis, Value Chain Analysis)

  7. Evaluate the current state and context of the organization (Conduct a successful SWOT analysis) and determine the needs of the organization going forward within the business environment in which it operates.
  8. Develop stakeholder analysis to ensure a clear pathway between the strategic direction of the organisation and catering to the needs of key stakeholders.

Meet the instructor

Warren Sookdar

Warren Sookdar is a results driven and accomplished executive who is acknowledged for building and managing successful teams both in the Caribbean and Canada. His particular strengths are in aligning corporate and business strategies to operational performance thereby creating and maintaining high customer satisfaction levels. With over 35 years experience within the financial services sector, he has driven the  I.T. and Change Management Strategies at three major financial institutions in the Caribbean and in Canada.  

Mr. Sookdar’s qualifications include an MBA, a Post Graduate Diploma in Strategic Management and several other certifications in Project Management and Management Studies. He is currently a serving Board Member at two major financial institutions. Additionally, he is currently an adjunct lecturer at the Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business.  As well, Mr Sookdar is a certified facilitator with Leadership Management International (LMI) and has been facilitating organizations in Strategic Planning and Leadership Development initiatives.  

Mr. Sookdar is an active Rotarian and is also involved in the mentoring of “at risk” youth from inner city communities.
